5.1 Six Cs Times Two

Six Cs in Learning
The six core elements impacting teaching and learning within digital environments include citizenship, creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and character education. These have been identified by Michael Fullan in Great to Excellent: Launching the Next Stage of Ontario's Education Agenda. These six core concepts are also essential when developing digital teaching and learning experiences. With these 6 Cs as core priorities in any and all digital experiences, learning becomes meaningful and enhances student well being within a community context. Teaching and learning focused on these six Cs, while applying technology to the process, product and sharing of inquiry will be purposeful and will result in higher levels of student engagement. The classroom application of these six Cs can be explored further on the Learn Teach Lead: Student Achievement Division-K to 12 site. This site provides classroom focus and videos to explore these concepts further.

She encourages teachers to model and be open to 'being human' so students can observe how to treat others. She states "I don't care how much you know until I know how much you care".
